First, a strongly worded letter:

Dear BBC,

Can you please stop doing that thing where you change the entire cast of a show after 3 seasons? This is the SECOND TIME you've done it to a show I liked and I am not okay

I realize that actors are real people who have careers and lives that need to be accommodated, but you - you are in the business of making people watch things you make. And when you inexplicably replace the people we've come to love over 3-4 years with new, random people who we know nothing about, that usually makes us not want to watch the things you make. Funny that.

But Solo, you will say. Surely you can fall in love with these new people too!
I refuse.
Maybe I'm just unlucky in that I get attached to characters most likely to be killed off - the cute, awkward, moral center of the group.

Signed,  a sad hollow shell of a person who just finished Series 3 of Misfits

Now that that's out of the way, some of you may remember that I once wrote a sort of jokey Coffeeshop AU for Stand Still Stay Silent. Because I'm awful at finishing things and even more awful at writing anything that isn't a oneshot, I haven't actually worked in it in months - but now that there's another one on the scene I've felt compelled to finish. Spite is a great motivator, as they say. So, stay tuned sometime this week for Chapter 3, in which Emil is a failboat and Lalli is more okay with it than you'd think.

I look forward to reading it. Well, the rest of it.

I feel you so hard on Misfits, and I raged about it for ages. I'm still so pissed about that.
I honestly tend to rec it to people with the caveat they stop after the Christmas special. Because I just can't deal with a switch like that.

Yeah, the show was mostly brilliant because of the combination of people and their chemistry as a group. When you mess with that, you simply lose the heart of the show.
